The closest suburb to Newcastle city centre is Sandyford. This is extremely popular with students as there is no need to use public transport. It has its own identity and is becoming a good place to go and eat out. Students find it is easy to socialise in either the city centre, Jesmond or Mr Lynch and As You Like It. Public transport links here are great as there is the Coast Road bus route and Jesmond Metro station. | |
